Recording reviews for The Bell Effect and
Mandocranium, an acoustic string Fantasy:

" ‘”Bruce’s own ‘Nelleke’ is a special moment also, a sweet ballad with a haunting melody, performed with great sensitivity”"

John Goodin, The Mandolin Journal
August 2012

" “Graybill’s arrangement of Charles Mingus's Goodbye Pork Pie Hat, which slows the time of the Melody just so and slides into the notes with sensuousness… This is one of the best arrangements and performances of this song that l’ve ever heard.”"

Hermon Joyner, Mandolin Magazine
Fall 2012

" “The back and forth interplay between these two is playful and virtuosic and always musical.”"

Hermon Joyner, Mandolin Magazine
Fall 2012

"Episodes of grace and fire mark this release..."

Dirty Linen

"Graybill is a versatile player with a strong, beautiful sound, and his tunes fuse disparate musical influences into tightly-honed

pieces bristling with energy."

Marilynn Mair / Mandolin Quarterly

" A nice mix of hard driving Bluegrass and sophisticated Jazz. This album represents Bruce's considerable talent quite well."

Eva Sands, Research Director,

       The Folk Sampler

"Bruce Graybill is a capable Mandolinist...If

you're into Dawg music you'll be pleased."

Niles Hokkanen, Editor / publisher,

        The Mandocrucian's Digest

"Great music to expose brains to.”

Workshop Reviews:

“I was in the Beginner Mandolin class Saturday morning. I was lost and didn't know how to read the music or make anything meaningful out of the tablature. But I paid attention anyway and tonight I picked my way through Old Joe Clark! Badly, but an audible click took place! So thank you. Coming from a saxophone and piano background, this was completely foreign to me, and the click was sorely needed. And well worth the $20!”

“It was great. Just what I was looking for :) the basics with a great overlay of all you’ve learned being a 2X W.V. Champ.”
